Luckily for the first time a high EU official has publicly taken position against these dog massacres and he made it clear, that the solution chosen by the Romanian authorities is not an acceptable option for the EU. May be this will be the beginning of a change. But only if the citizens of the various EU countries demand from their government and parliament to put pressure on the Romanian authorities to immediately stop the killing program and to resume the castrations program under the supervision and with the help of the large international animal wellfare organizations.
